Repairs and Maintenance

Cill Dara Housing Association aims to provide our tenants with an efficient repairs and maintenance service and to perform cyclical and planned maintenance to our properties in order to keep them in good condition.

Please note that you, the tenant are also responsible for maintenance and repairs around your home. To see a full list of these responsibilities and response times for CDHA repair issues, please see information at the links below.

Please note: If repairs emerge which are your responsibility (i.e. caused by tenant, occupants, visitors or pets), but that CDHA must correct because you are unable or unwilling to do so, you will be charged for the cost of the repairs. These are known as re-chargeable repairs. Where a tenant is unable to carry out such repairs due to disability or old age for example, CDHA may carry out these repairs on the tenant’s behalf and charge the tenant for this work.

Out of hours calls, 5pm – 9am, should only be made to this number for real emergencies which, if left unattended until the office opens, are likely to cause possible injury or serious danger to health.

Only the following issues are classified as emergency repairs:

  1. Complete loss of heating in adverse weather conditions
  2. Complete loss of hot and cold water
  3. Complete loss of electrics if it’s an individual issue and not a problem in the area

Please note our contractors will only attend if they can arrange appointments beforehand by telephone number provided by you. A call-out charge may apply if a contractor attends a property as arranged and there is no-one at the property to give them access to carry out the repair.
